New Order - Power, Corruption & Lies (1983)

"Paths that we cannot take. You caught me at a bad time, so why don't you piss off?"

New Order's second album wasn't really a step into their well-known sound as of today - it was giant leap. The consistent use of synth is done masterfully and Power, Corruption & Lies was the album that put them on the map only a few years after the demise of Joy Division. The 2008 re-release of the album contains the original 1983 version on disc one and the on disc two you get the Collector's Edition, containing the seminal English classic "Blue Monday".
